"'When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes."
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank you for the conviction we feel in our hearts when we read about King Josiah. He left such an awesome example for us. It is a blessing to read the way he humbled his heart, and how he did not blame others for the sins that had consumed his people.
He repented and sought your healing for himself and his nation even though it was painful for him.
Help us to be like King Josiah, Father.
Help us to be a "repenting people" and never fear sharing our difficulties with other trusted Christians. Help us to never put off our good intentions for any reason, but to be humble, like Josiah, and to seek Jesus who is our Advocate with the Father.
Help all of us who are lonely, in emotional pain, confused, sick, shut-in, grieving, in sin and/or have addictions. Help us to by like King Josiah, to humble ourselves before you, to repent if we need to, and to seek spiritual healing that can only come from You, our loving and almighty God.
