This, I know, is grace

Thank you, Eternal Father, for each precious gift you give — life itself and all that is necessary to sustain it.

The most precious of all, of course, is that of eternal salvation. In comparison, this present life is less than a drop of water in all the oceans of earth.

And everything else besides eternal life is icing on the cake. If the present is sweet, what must heaven be like?

How is it that I was blessed with all this, when so many go wanting? How was I shown the path to freedom when billions are enslaved by sin?

This, I know, is grace, and I am humbled before you.

You deserve all praise and glory for your wisdom.

Pour Out Your Blessing

Pour out your blessing, Lord of light,
Lord of sight, Lord of sound,
Pour out your Spirit, full of might,
Full of power where gifts abound.

Pour out this soul, a life to give,
A life to live, a life to serve;
Pour out your servant, his work receive,
A sacrifice without reserve.

Pour out, O God, upon this earth,
The word to save, the word of love;
Bring forth for many a spiritual birth,
That all to heaven might soon remove.

Let Nothing Here Weigh More

Food and drink and work and rest,
And love, above all, for family and friends;
With gifts like these we’re richly blessed —
O Lord, upon you our life depends.

More than all this world’s desires,
And more than bodily comfort and peace —
Earthly existence which soon expires —
Is perfect life that does not cease.

Let nothing here weigh more to me
Than knowledge of you and home in heaven;
And may I hear your voice and see
The joys of hope that daily beckon.

Blessing and to bless

Father, give us focus today and help us devote attention and energies to what is important and to the opportunities at hand.

In our time with the saints today, may it be a blessing to us and to all who are present in our assemblies.

Thank you for the greatest blessing of all, eternal salvation in Christ. May that be the blessing we seek most to share with others.

Make love our deepest and truest motivation. Keep us solidly within the truth. Give us words that are true, clear, plain, and compelling.

We want to please you. Show us how. Help us hear the Word. Provide for our needs, and may we rejoice in your glorious presence and inherent goodness.

Our fellowship with you our food

Father, our fellowship with you is our food. We share in common a love this world cannot know.

We experience the life from the Source of living.

We know the Son who lives in us and walks with us until the end. We suffer with him and for him, for the sake of the Good News and the salvation of many.

We serve the needy and use our gifts for the benefit of the body of Christ.

This is our pleasure and joy and crown. We thank you for this communion.
